Makar Sankranti OR Uttarayan is a festival that heralds a change of season marking the movement of the Sun into the Northern Hemisphere, a celebration to mark the end of winter. The Sky is blue and clear and a cool breeze blows and a feeling of joy & jubilation grips around us.
In Gujarat, Makar Sankranti is celebrated as the kite-flying day. It is a day when people of all ages fly kites rejoicing. The sky is enlivened by kites of different colours and hues. We can see crowded rooftops, fun loving rivalry to out do each other and delicious Gujarati feast are the hallmark of the day.
Beautifully decorated kites were designed by our students with small quotes. The joy and jubilation shown by our students during the online class was really appreciable. The students were also made aware about the safety precautions to be taken during kite flying.
